It's all original - although originally Ford never took this much time or paid this much attention to detail!

Yes, the car is "Lime Gold" for those that never knew.

First, the dash, steering column, ash tray, glove box and doors were painted Charcoal Black.  Second, the floor and trunk compartment were painted body color.  Third, the door jams were painted and areas that we didn't want to have to reach over to paint when spraying the final coat.  We painted behind the door hinges (for rust), something Ford never did.

The trunk compartment is painted.  Notice the Gold tint in the paint?

Prior to painting we made sure to replicate the rough texture on the inner quarter panels.

The doors are jamed out then hung on the car for final painting. This is done because it is extremely difficult to shoot the underside of the door when it is hung.

The front fenders were primed with red oxide and then painted body color.  The top part of the fender will have undercoating to help prevent stone damage while driving. Like this is gonna be driven - not!!!!

Over spray is a big part of the concours look.

The next step after this will be to paint the underside of the hood, trunk lid and nose clip with trim black.

Then it is time to place everything back together in order to lay out the stripes.

So stay tuned for the exterior page in about 3-4 weeks!!
