Finally, the baby is home - 1000lbs (but will be fattened up), 186.6inchs long - with white Le Mans stripes.

Back in the garage, where over the next few months (weeks) the re-assembly will take place.  This process will be documented and we hope you will stay tuned for our updates.

A real bare boards shot - the floor is body color and the dash and doors are finished in charcoal black.

Engine compartment was first shot with red oxide primer and then semi-gloss black was applied over the top. Note also, the undersides of the hood and trunk lid could be either body color or black (as is the case with our car).

The inner front wheel well shows several different paint colors, and you have to understand  Ford's assembly line process to appreciate this:   First, the car was painted red oxide primer,  second, the car was painted body color,  third, the engine compartment was painted semi-gloss black.  Resulting in three different colors in the front wheel wells!!

Right down to the last detail, which is quite often forgotten - pinch welds are black on light colored cars.
