Just out of the paint shop and ready for lots of re-assembly!

First it's off the dolly and onto jack stands - I cannot stress enough be very careful when you do this.  With virtually no weight to speak of accidentally pushing it off the stands could happen (this would really mess up the paint and quite unmistakably mess up your day!!).

The neatest and fastest way to add weight is to install the rear axle and leaf springs!

As one of the first assembly processes I always like to get the brake lines and proportioning valve installed and checked.  Word of advise there is not a lot of room in the engine compartment after you sit that big 428 between the shock towers, so do what you can and check for functionality while you still have room to work.

With the suspension installed we are getting closer to achieving a rolling chassis.  For those of you who are interested; the front springs are striped in gold and pink, the rear springs are striped orange, the drive shaft is marked light blue, dark blue and red.

It really is easier to drop motor with transmission attached, but it is a lot to install so bring friends who know what they are doing to help you out.  Again, attach as much as you can prior to commencing the installation (transmission lines, starter, spark plugs and wires) items that would typically be hard to get to once the motor is in the close confines of the engine bay.

IT FITS!!!!     and a big, no huge, thank you to Bill at Mansfield Mustang for his assistance with the correctness of the motor.

Rear end shot before the tail panel goes on - just to give you a rare glimpse of what is under "the skirt".  Note the gas cap goes on first goes it sure won't fit after the panel is installed.

Looking good! The finish on the panel is a flat silver  which really adds distinct definition to the rear of the vehicle.

All original dash components and interior trim have been re-plated and refurbished,  the AM/FM Stereo radio has been rebuilt and new door speakers have been installed.

Window glass has been installed and the Shelby is really starting to take shape.
