The very first step in a restoration is take a lot of pictures of the car before and during the disassembly. 

Starter Solenoid and Junction Box.  In particular take pictures of the wiring and anything else you might not be able to "remember".   Because, 6 months down the road you won't remember!!!

Brake line routing.
Make a list of what needs to be sent off for rebuilding.  I have yet to find a proportioning valve that still worked.  The spring normally turns to dirt after all those years.  I use a stainless steel spring when rebuilding them.

The brake booster, calibers, steering valve control, and even the steering box may need to be rebuilt. 

How do the old wheels look?  They may need to be sent off.

 

 

Does the 9 inch whine and how does it shift?
Is the old wood cracking over the years?
